Hyku for Consortia transitions from pilot phase to full production

The Partnership for Academic Library Collaboration and Innovation (PALCI) and the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) are proud to announce the successful transition of Hyku for Consortia from pilot phase to full production—now serving 40 libraries across four prominent partners in the Hyku Commons: PALCI, PALNI, the Boston Library Consortium (BLC), and the Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA).

Announcing Hyrax 5: increasing flexibility for repository storage

We are pleased to announce the full release of Hyrax 5.0.0. Hyrax v5 is the culmination of effort over the past several years by numerous members of the Samvera community to convert Hyrax to use the Valkyrie data mapper, and move away from the ActiveFedora mapper. This change will provide Hyrax and Hyku implementations the ability to choose their own persistence layer and no longer be limited to Fedora 4 or 5.

Call for host locations for Samvera Connect conferences in 2024 and 2025

The Samvera Community is excited to announce the Call for Host Locations for the Samvera Connect conferences for 2024 and 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to support our open source community. Hosting comes with no financial risk to your institution and the events are in-person and capped to 75 attendees, making accommodations easier to arrange for many organizations.

PALNI and PALCI successfully conclude IMLS grant to remove barriers to Hyku adoption

The Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) and The Partnership for Academic Library Collaboration & Innovation (PALCI) are pleased to announce the successful completion of an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant to fund the project, "Hyku for Consortia: Removing Barriers to Adoption."

Samvera Community Celebrates Unprecedented Open Source Collaboration and Support

Samvera Connect 2023 Conference Celebrates In-Person Gathering of Global Community

Philadelphia, PA - Samvera Connect 2023, the much-anticipated conference of the Samvera Community, concluded on October 26th at the Philadelphia Marriott Old City, marking a triumphant return to in-person events after four years of virtual conferences. The conference brought together 78 attendees from five countries, fostering a sense of community solidarity and advancing the technical development and collaboration efforts of the Samvera community.

Julie Hardesty Receives the 2023 Julie Allinson Award

The Selection Committee is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2023 Julie Allinson Award is Julie Hardesty from Indiana University. The annual award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Samvera Community, and honors the late Julie Allinson, a beloved Samvera Community member who was an incredible mentor, teacher, contributor, and friend.
