The next Apereo Foundation Microconference features an exciting new project in our community: Enact, a specialist practice research repository built using Hyku.

Digital repositories make local stories globally available.

The Samvera Europe 2026 Meeting will be held on Tuesday 5th May, from 2pm to 5pm, in conjunction with the CoSector Festival of Technology in Education and Research at University of London. The meeting is being kindly hosted by CoSector at Senate House, where the Festival is taking place, in conjunction with the Samvera Community. The Samvera Community is a collection of universities in North America and Europe established in 2008 to foster open discussion and engagement on the development of digital repositories, as well as creating software solutions to address curation needs. All those working with digital repositories, including repository management, collections management and presentation, software development, metadata, etc. are warmly invited.

We’re excited to welcome Rob Kaufman to the new role of Technical Coordinator for the Hyrax and Hyku platforms. This role provides essential technical leadership and coordination at a moment when many institutions are facing funding constraints, and reliance on Hyrax and Hyku infrastructure continues to grow.

The Samvera Community is pleased to announce Christine Peterson Consulting as its newest Samvera Service Provider Partner, strengthening the community’s collaborative network of libraries, service providers, and technologists dedicated to open source repository solutions.

The Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) and the Partnership for Academic Library Collaboration and Innovation (PALCI) are pleased to announce a new partnership with Invest in Open Infrastructure (IOI) to strengthen the long-term sustainability of Hyku, the open-source digital repository platform. Through this project, the Hyku for Consortia team—along with key stakeholders in the Samvera Hyku Community and IOI—will support the development of a co-investment and community decision-making model designed to ensure the Hyku platform remains robust, community-driven, and financially sustainable.

Samvera Connect 2025 is now a free, online conference, October 28th - 30th

The Samvera Connect 2025 Program Committee has extended the deadline for our Call for Proposals for presentations, panels, lightning talks, and posters to July 28th. This year’s conference will be held in person from October 20–23, 2025, in Mexico City.
